Our history
Our mission? To create the perfect cap, one that doesn’t travel halfway around the world before ending up on your head.
In the spring of 2024, during an evening spent reinventing the world, we, Mathieu and Maxime, made the decision to slightly change the course of our professional lives. It all began with a simple introspective look at our respective careers. One of us is a financial director, the other an architect. Stable situations, a future that seemed all mapped out, yet despite that, a shared realization that our fulfillment as men would inevitably come through entrepreneurship. We needed to take risks, to taste independence, freedom to become our “own bosses,” as they say. Our decision was clear and straightforward: keep our professional situations as they were, but invest 100% of our remaining time in a new project, a shared project, a project where only us would decide the direction to take, with our own organization and our own ethics.
Our thinking led us toward the textile industry, and more specifically toward caps, certainly not the path we would have imagined following just a few years earlier. Being both passionate about fashion, we began our research in that direction, somewhat blindly, it must be said. The adventure began right there, facing a blank page whose outlines we could barely make out. Our objective: to develop a cap brand that would fit seamlessly into our era but above all, a French brand.
After several months of research and study, Masko finally came to life. The road was long, but the result lived up to our expectations and to the investment we put into this project. In collaboration with our stylist, Marie, who joined the team along the way and brings incredible added value to the design of our caps, the first models were born.
A key feature of these models, they are all made in France. Every single product sold on our website is, in fact, sewn and assembled in France, by our partners at the Atelier de la Casquette in Montpellier. They were the first to believe in our project and to decide to join us in the Masko adventure. An adventure indeed, because today, choosing Made in France is no small undertaking. But that is precisely why we chose to pour ourselves into this project. Masko is the choice of thoughtful, responsible production without the need to send your cap traveling to the four corners of the world before it lands on your head. Masko is prioritizing Made in France as much as possible.
The caps are designed directly in-house, and samples are ordered from our partner sewing workshop. Once the prototypes are approved, the caps are ordered from our supplier in Montpellier and then sewn and assembled by hand. The sourcing of fabrics, patches and threads is done exclusively with certified companies. Aligned with our vision of an ecological and responsible production wherever possible.
We then store all our models in our warehouse in Haute-Savoie before shipping them to you, our very dear customers.
Our vision of the textile industry may seem out of step at a time where, generally speaking, it’s always easier to outsource. But we sincerely believe in this Made in France approach for our brand, because ultimately, everything is a matter of ethics.
We work everyday to make Masko an essential part of your wardrobe and closet, and we hope that you will appreciate the journey.
